Sources for Equipment Reviews

Wednesday March 26, 2008

Thinking about putting out some hard earned cash to upgrade your microphone, or buy a more powerful recorder? Harmony Central is a source I always turn to when I am when I am looking for user reviews for recording equipment. The site offers hundreds of reviews, so it's probably best to figure out what gear you're interested in first, and the search the reviews after.

Electronic Musician is another great source I turn to for well written, free reviews on microphones, recorders, and software. Lastly, Sound on Sound is a well respected audio magazine with in-depth reviews of new equipment every month. Some of their older reviews are free, but newer content is accessed by a subscription service. Don't worry, if you just want one article, you can buy them individually as PDF downloads for about $2.00 each.
